LinkedIn uses native emoji support both on the web, as well as in apps for iOS and Android. This means that Android users see emojis from either Samsung (on Samsung devices) or Google (on all other Android devices).
Users of iOS, iPadOS or macOS see emojis rendered using Apple's emoji designs. Accessing LinkedIn using a web browser on Windows shows emojis from Microsoft.
LinkedIn’s direct messaging feature includes a custom emoji picker when accessed through a web browser. This custom picker allows users to toggle eligible emojis’ skin tone via an icon displaying the โ Raised Hand emoji.
As of July 2021, the custom emoji picker only includes a subset of emojis from up to 2016’s Emoji 4.0. This means that the picker does not feature recently introduced emojis such as 2020’s ๐ถ๐ซ๏ธ Face in Clouds.
LinkedIn provides emoji reaction ("reactji") options for responding to comments, which are labelled as:
- ๐ Thumbs Up – Like
- ๐ Clapping Hands – Celebrate
- โค๏ธ Red Heart – Love
- ๐ก Light Bulb – Insightful
- ๐ค Thinking Face – Curious
Each emoji reaction in LinkedIn has a distinct design, though these are not used for general emoji support on the platform.
